Special Education Advocacy
Is your child struggling in school, having difficulty making friends, or having behavior problems?
A good evaluation can get to the root of the problem and help you get the support that your child needs.
Isaiah was a bright second grade boy, but he avoided socializing with peers, had great difficulty completing assignments and had problem behaviors, such as hiding under his desk. An evaluation determined that he had High Functioning Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder. When the evaluation was presented to the school, he was found eligible for special education services. Now he has 1:1 support with a paraprofessional, a behavior plan, and attends a social skills group. With these supports, he now feels more confident about himself and can participate in all school activities.
